About Us
The The NoAbout Us
The The No Pants Players came into existence in
2001, founded by Joe Wallace. The troupe began with five members, but is
currently operating with ten members. The players consist of local and community
theater personalities that share a love for the beveled edge of improvisational
comedy. The group's styling is very similar to the popular TV show "Whose Line
Is It Anyway?" The fast-pace nature of their performances forces every member of
the troupe to completely rely upon the abilities, and most importantly, the
instincts, of their fellow players. The No Pants Players have made a home for
themselves at the Labelle Theater over the past six years, performing monthly
shows at the venue. The No Pants Players' performances are well-known to be
family-friendly entertainment, and have become a great addition to the Kanawha
Valley theater scene.
The No Pants Players are scheduled to perform their 4th annual show
at Tamarack in Beckley in October, 2010. In April of 2010, the troupe did their
first performance at the Alban Theater in St. Albans, which was a fund-raiser to
support the families of the recent Big Branch mining disaster. Due to the
response of the community, over $1100.00 was donated to the families. And
because of the great support of the St Albans community, it has led to regular
performances at the Alban, including a full schedule of performances in 2011.
Also, the troupe will begin doing regularly schedules adults-only performances,
due to continuos requesta from our fans.
2011 will mark the 10th Anniversary of The No Pants Players, and
the troupe is planning many special events to commemorate this accomplishment.
Over the years, the troupe has been through many changes and many members, but
the goal of the troupe has remained the same, to entertain the Charleston and
Kanawha Valley communities with live improv comedy. The troupe has seen a huge
increase in the support of their fans of the past year, and all we can say
is...Thank you, we could not do what we love, without the support of you!
The troupe would like to thank the following for their valued
support: Rudy Panucci. V100. The Alban Arts and Conference Center. Tamarack of
Beckley. Kanawha Players. Jeff Pierson for his awesome NPP Posters! Facebook.
Bill Lynch and the staff at The Charleston Gazette. And last but not least, the
thousands of supporters who have came to our shows over the last decade! Thank
you, thank you, thank you!
